Caffinaafi is the heart of The VC Hub, a welcoming space run by veterans and the local community. It’s a place to share stories, learn new skills, and enjoy a cuppa in good company. Every brew helps support our wider projects and keeps the Hub thriving for the future.

Our veteran-led gardening team offers affordable, high-quality services for the local community, helping homes and green spaces flourish. The project provides paid work, hands-on experience and wellbeing through the healing power of the outdoors.

Reliable, local and community-driven, our cleaning service gives veterans and volunteers meaningful work while helping homes and businesses shine. It’s another way we’re building opportunity, pride and connection across our community.

Caffinaaffi is the soul of the VC Hub. Predominantly run by the Veteran team in collaboration with the local community, it is now very well established. Volunteers receive valuable learning experience; we are proud of having being able to offer paid work to one staff member and hope to do so again in the future. Caffinaaffi is providing revenue for the continuation of our services, the aim being that The VC Hub does not have to rely solely on funding in the future.
Of course its main purpose is at is has always been - to offer Veterans, their families and the community a place of safety, warmth, friendship, inclusion and inspiration. Some of our current activies and collaborations include:
Creative & Wellbeing Activities:

The VC Hub Gardening Services consisting of Veterans and volunteers offer gardening services to the community at reduced cost. Offering paid work, this has obvious benefits to the gardeners, the clientele and the local economy and environment. Any future surplus profit would go back into the service and our stated aim of becoming self-sufficient.
The gardening project is part of our general belief that the outdoors can be a place of great physical and emotional benefit and healing. The VC Hub have secured a ten year agreement to develop a Woodland space in the Queensferry area. The vision is to create a safe community woodland for reflection and basic forestry projects. In the future we would like to develop this to include a classroom and workshop, not just for Veterans but also the wider community of Deeside.
The organisation has been awarded funding from The Community Lottery to enable the creation of The VC Hub Therapy Den, a project which will bring Veterans and community together to build The Therapy Den and develop the surrounding grounds. Ultimately it will provide access to Trauma based therapies in the Flintshire area and a space to relieve stress and promote wellbeing.

As with the gardening, this more recently launched service is one where the whole community gains. It grows economic prosperity, local engagement and will increase employment opportunities as it expands.
